After months of moving, unpacking, and adjusting, we finally feel like Kentucky is home.
The transition wasn’t without its challenges, but everyday life has started to settle into a rhythm that feels intentional, exciting, and deeply satisfying.
Finding Work Was Surprisingly Easy
One of the biggest surprises for us was how accessible local jobs were.
I quickly found a position at Walgreens in the pharmacy. When that location closed, it turned into a blessing in disguise—I landed an amazing admin role at Bluegrass Foundation Repair, just 20 minutes from home.
The work is perfect for me. I love doing admin tasks, and the experience has been eye-opening for my real estate ventures. I’ve learned so much about how the ground and soil differ in Kentucky compared to Connecticut, and how critical foundation inspections are.
Jimmy, on the other hand, landed his dream job working at a library. Recently, he moved even closer to home, taking a role at the local vet’s office—perfectly aligned with his passion for animals.
Daily Life That Feels Like Home
Life here combines the best of both worlds: peace and purpose.
Rolling hills and open land surround our property.
Our animals—chickens, goats, and a rescued mustang—are thriving.
Farmers markets, craft fairs, and local events give us a real sense of community.
Every day, we notice small joys: quiet mornings on the porch, neighbors stopping by to chat, and discovering new local spots.
What We’ve Learned
• Moving states isn’t just about housing—it’s about building a life you love.
• Community can make or break the feeling of home. Kentucky delivered on every level.
• Career changes can happen faster than expected, and opportunities often align when you’re open to them.
We left Connecticut chasing space, peace, and purpose—and we found it all.
Kentucky isn’t just a place we live—it’s a place we belong.
